Frequently asked questions.

Have a question? We've got answers. If you don't see your question here, feel free to contact us directly.

No. A double-pane window is manufactured as a sealed insulated unit consisting of two pieces of glass bonded together with a spacer bar. If one pane breaks, the entire insulated glass unit must be replaced. The good news is that you typically do not need to replace the full window frame — only the sealed unit itself.
We do not offer insulated glass unit (IGU) repair. Once the seal fails and moisture enters between the panes, the insulating performance is compromised. Replacement is the most reliable long-term solution. While some companies offer temporary defogging processes, they do not restore the original seal or insulation value.
Some insulated glass units are filled with Argon gas between the panes. Argon improves thermal performance by reducing heat transfer, making the window more energy-efficient. These units are effective for insulation, although they are typically more expensive than standard air-filled units.
All of our insulated glass units are IGMA-certified and include a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty against seal failure. Many standard units in the industry offer only a 5-year warranty, so we encourage homeowners to ask about warranty coverage when replacing sealed units.
Laminated glass consists of two or more layers of glass bonded together with a vinyl interlayer. When broken, the glass adheres to the interlayer instead of falling apart. It offers enhanced safety, improved security, sound dampening, and up to 99% UV protection, making it a popular choice for overhead glazing, security applications, and noise reduction.
Tempered glass is heat-treated to increase its strength, making it approximately four to six times stronger than standard glass. When broken, it shatters into small, less harmful pieces rather than sharp shards. It is commonly used in shower enclosures, railings, doors, and other areas where safety is a priority.

For one or two windows, we may be able to provide a preliminary estimate over the phone. We typically ask:

  • Is the window single-pane or double-pane?
  • What are the approximate dimensions?
  • Is the glass clear, tinted, or obscure?
  • Is the window easily accessible?

For larger projects, we may schedule a site visit to provide a free estimate.
